There is lot going on here at the farm! We’ve fallen behind on updates because we were very busy during Michael’s April vacation, and Ryan was away from the farm all last week finishing up her Master’s degree. So here is the recap!
Our bees arrived and Michael set up 2 hives. And was stung twice.

Michael is dumping the bees into the hive, after first banging the crate on the ground to stir them... the buzzing got REALLY loud after he did that!
We finished splitting and stacking wood with the help of friends.
We also did a lot of field preparation and planting. The greenhouse is crammed full of seedlings. We brought home 10 new laying hens, Golden Comets. I guess we really need to take some more pictures! We built chicken tractors for our meat birds with the help of Michael’s dad.
And then 150 chicks arrived.
Now we are gearing up to help Good Karma Farm with shearing this weekend, for our first farmers’ market near the end of the month, CSA pick ups to start in June and helping the town of Bremen plan a harvest dinner for September!
The pigs are doing great, by the way.

I love the blog!! Wishing you great success (and very envious)!
